Trees for Cities in Tredegar Square

A while back we conducted a survey to get your feedback on how to improve Tredegar Square Gardens. The results showed a real desire to increase biodiversity and improve planting in the square.

To achieve this, we’ve been working with the relevant departments at the council and happily Trees for Cities are going to help us too. The plan is for a mini orchard of fruit trees as well as adding other species around the square. We’ll overhaul one of the beds, add more varieties to the others and, of course, get loads more bulbs in too.

Trees for Cities will be on site for a week. They’re planning education days for local schools and the work will culminate in a big day of planting. This is scheduled for Saturday 14th October and everyone is invited. It’ll be a brilliant chance to get your hands dirty, or have some tea/cake while other people do the digging. Whatever you fancy, save the date and more details will follow soon.
