Why not join the MEOTRA committee? Nominations close this Thursday.
To be nominated to become part of the MEOTRA committee you need to get your nomination in by this Thursday 20th April at midnight. You will need a proposer and seconder. Nominations should be sent via email to meotra@googlegroups.com
Next Thursday, 27th April, is the MEOTRA Annual General Meeting, our first one since 29th October 2020. The meeting takes place at 7.30PM in the Epainos Church on Lichfield Road. Some light refreshments will be available from 7PM. Please do come along if you can.
As is tradition, all the committee stand down each year with some possibly standing for reelection. So would you like to join the committee and put some time and energy into our local community? The committee meets 3-4 times per year typically, with a mix of online and in person meetings. It would be great to have a wide range of demographics - age, ethnicity, marital status, gender, disabilities, sexuality, the wider the mix the better. It would be great to have a mix from across our streets. We currently have reps from seven of our 13 streets.
As well as Chair, Treasurer and Secretary, other "ordinary" posts are available. These are anything other than ordinary, and contribute to the functioning of our voluntary group in many ways from producing three newsletters per year, helping to organise events such as the Carols, Egg Hunt, Fun Day, gardening in Tredegar Square, and not forgetting donning the Santa costume. MEOTRA is 50 next year and so it should be a fun year ahead.
Take a look at our constitution for details on how the elections and the Annual General Meeting "work". And don't forget nominations close this Thursday
If you would like to chat about any of the roles informally then drop us an email and we'll get back in touch.
