Swap Shop - Saturday 21st January at Bethnal Green Library (10.30-1.30)
One person’s junk is another person’s treasure! Help tackle waste and pick up some fabulous items at this fun, free sustainable event. Bring along up to 15 items for swapping. The event will only accept items in good, clean, reusable condition.
What to bring
- Clothing, shoes and accessories – women’s, men’s and children’s
- Unwanted Christmas gifts
- Small items of furniture
- Bric-a-brac
- Toys
- Sports equipment
- Books
- Tools
- Musical instruments
Do not bring
- Electrical items
- Underwear
- Items that are faulty or dirty
- Food
- Large items (A display board will be available for photos of larger items)
Only bring items you would be happy to take away!
How it works
- Bring up to 15 items in good, clean condition between 10.30 – 11.30am and exchange for tokens
- There will be a break between dropping off your items and the start of the swap. Join a workshop, browse in the library, or go away and return
- Between 12 noon – 1.30pm browse and choose items and exchange your tokens for up to 15 new-to-you things!
All items will be quality checked before tokens are issued. You can donate any unused tokens. These will be given to those who do not have tokens and want to join in. Any items left at the end, will be donated to charity or brought to the next swap.
Low-waste living workshop
Drop-in from 10.30am to 1.30pm
Clean your home naturally, save money and reduce plastic packaging! Learn how to infuse vinegar to use as a multi-purpose cleaning spray. Cut up old clothes into cloths to clean with. Share your tips on how to reduce waste at home. Bring a medium-sized jar or container to carry home your cleaning product
