"Unlocking the Past" Heritage Day at St Mary's Bow (Bow Church) Sat 12th March


This coming weekend there is a Heritage Day at Bow Church with lots of interesting things to do. There will be art activities for children throughout the day, led by Bow Arts, tables and displays by community groups (for example the House Mill) and Blue Badge guides. Refreshments will be served all day. Admission is free! 

The programme for the day is as follows:

11.30  Heritage Day begins
12.00  Local history walk (led by Tower Hamlets Archives) and tours of the church
12.30  Tour of the churchyard and garden (led by the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association)
1.00    Lunch
1.30    Talk: local history sources in Tower Hamlets Archives
2.00    Talk: bells and bell ringing
2.30    Talk:  the architectural history of Bow Church
3.00    Tour of the church
3.30    Opening of the Secret Chest and prizes for children's artwork
4.00   Close
